format and dimensions vary

These maps depict the distribution of major professional sports arenas in North American cities with two or more such teams.

Colored dots indicate the sports played in each arena: football football dot, baseball baseball dot, basketball basketball dot, hockey hockey dot. Dots have multiple colors where teams of two sports share an arena, or play in arenas within the same complex. Urbanized areas are shown in dark gray, center city limits by a black line. The smallest orientation circles have a radius of 10 miles (16 km), increasing by increments of 5 miles.

† Circles are generally centered at the city hall.

Complex defined here by multiple arenas sharing contiguous parking lots.

Maps in the local state plane projection. Urbanized area & city boundary data from US Census and Statistics Canada. No urbanized area data for Canada or Mexico, send it along if you've got it. Arena locations are as of early 2010.
